Knollwood Fire Station, 14 Skokie Road

There's been a rash of burglaries in the last few weeks affecting homes in Knollwood, Lake Forest, and Lake Bluff, and naturally we're hearing a lot of concern from our residents. We're holding a public meeting on Thursday, October 29, 2015, to give people a chance to learn more. The speaker will be Deputy Roman Buchberger of the Lake County Sheriff's Community Service Division.

Here's what we know for sure about the Knollwood incidents that have been reported to the Lake County Sheriff's Office:

  • October 7, North Avenue, 800 block - forced entry in home, no one home (in morning - reported after noon)
  • October 12, Safford Avenue, 700 block - vehicle burglary, no evidence of forced entry, garage door opener taken among other things (reported after 10 pm)
  • October 14, Foster Avenue, 800 block - homeowner came home and found home had been breached, had last been home 20 minutes earlier (in afternoon)
